Hi Friends
I have a lot to talk about to lets do it in parts !! Part- 1... here it goes!!!!
I just flew overseas 6 months ago for a management diploma. "Dream big, live life king size" the motto, which led me here. And if you are reading this, i am pretty much sure that we fall into the same category. Sure you must, life is cool in here. You earn and you burn. That's how it work in here. But since the last few days...looking at the situation here, i felt like sharing a few things with the aspirants desiring to study away from home. First and foremost-
You Don't Need An Agent/ Education Consultant and any other guy who says can help you. The merely mean to rip you off to shreds before sending you oversea to find a pathetic college in pathetic situation. Yeah, happened to me after all !!! But i could afford a trip back home. Not everyone can.
Let me share a few stories:
" A guy came in, from India of course, Had $700 in the pocket. We welcomed him for a small welcome party and as we were getting to know each other, i asked him his plan for the new place. He told me that he was going to find job and party hard. A casual reply persistent to the picture shown by the agents to the students and their parents. Within 3 weeks , he was left with $150 with no source of income from here or home. That is his rent for the next 1 week. He moved out to his friends place at a cheaper accommodation to be share by 4 people at $50. A few more weeks and still no work. Live was getting tough, even the friends found it difficult to keep accommodating and spending on the guy. He had no place to go, and was forced to sleep in the parks in the winter chills. Cleaning the cars on signals is what he does for a living. Yeah guys, we have done it. These people had no idea this could be a source of income. I saw him on the signal the other day and i was literally shattered to see the guy. I was about to quit a job, and i am thankful that i could set him up for the job. He is doing well for himself these days. But sometimes i just wonder, what if we had nit crossed paths that day... What would he have done. "
I am not the character to be appreciated but i surely can help our friends in need and help them from being cheated and misguided by these agents. No doubt life is good overseas, but you have to think twice before making a decision.Talk to your relatives, friends at the place you want to study . Map all the possibilities, do some research about the cost of living at the place, opportunities for the present and future. Don't force yourself to be harassed by someone , as i see people ending up.
Lately, i have also seent he trend where agents send in student overseas without them requiring any english certification/ scorecard. This is way beyond my understanding. You want to skip an English exam but want to go to a English speaking nation. And maybe you are intelligent enough to understand what happens next.
1 house, 2 rooms 8 people with no scope of improvement. You know what i am talking about, right??
Friends, a few important points to keep in mind before you even think about visiting an agent :-
- The conditional offer of letter & the admission offer letter are provided free of cost.
Though some students pay heavily to the agents, for the offer letters from the colleges overseas, you will be surprised to learn that the college do not charge anything for these letters. This is merely an acceptance of your admission to the universities on the basis of documents that you provided. Alternatively, this can be done from home.
- Choose a country/course/college
- Get you documents ( Marksheets 10, +2 Graduation notarised by a notary)
- Scan and mail them to the university with the application letter.
- You will get the reply from the college within a week.
This is the first phase for the preparation of you flight overseas. Save money guys. The more you save.. the more you get to spend :P
